The Futures Development Corporation (“FDC”) is a voluntary  independent organization providing efficient and innovative self-regulatory programs that safeguard the integrity of the foreign derivatives markets service marketed in sub-Saharan Africa. FDC is formed by professionals involved in trading in and training on leveraged commodity trading, leveraged online forex trading, CFD trading and other futures markets trading on their behalf and on behalf of members of the public. The formation of FDC was necessitated by the need to promote better understanding of international financial markets and to build a transparent and secure regulatory environment for the investing public.

 

There are three classes of memberships that are available:

1. Client Membership: This membership is open to members of the public who are using the services of Service Providers such as Introducing Brokers and Money Managers or businesses soliciting them to invest in the forex market. Client Members are entitled to admission to weekly educational seminars held at 2 p.m. every Saturday; Advisory and representation services in the event of a dispute between the client and a Service Provider; and Independent monitoring of the client’s trading account (where the client’s account is being managed by a third party);

2. Accredited Trader Membership: This membership is suitable for persons who have undergone training under an FDC approved trainer or persons who have traded live forex or commodity accounts for a period exceeding six months (account statement to prove duration of trading – not expertise in trading -  shall be required); An Accredited Trader Member is entitled to admission to weekly educational seminars held at 2 p.m. every Saturday; access to daily market signal services available every morning at 10 a.m. on FDC’s website; access to HR opportunities offered by FDC Service Provider Members; 10% discounts on all services provided by Service Provider Members; and access to the Margin Call Recovery Programme, subject to terms of conditions of contributions to the programme;

3. Service Provider Members: This membership is suitable for individuals, companies or organizations providing services or products related to the forex or commodity markets to the public. Access to a daily updated list of potential clients and their contact details sourced by FDC; A Service Provider Member is entitled to access to a daily compiled list of prospective obtained by FDC; access to cross-referral services from other FDC members; the right to sell services offered by other members for a commission of 30% of all income earned by the principal Service Provider (i.e. the Service Provider who will actually provide the service to the client); the right to be listed as a member of FDC is FDC Adverts that list members; the right to be listed as a member of FDC on FDC’s website; access to weekly seminars as a Service Provider, with the express authority to solicit business from clients who attend the seminars; ready access to all FDC trainers subject to the terms and condition of the trainer’s employer; accreditation of its graduated trainees; access to the Margin Call Recovery Programme, subject to terms of conditions of contributions to the programmes; industry wide interface to the government; and regulation and the enforcement of regulation from FDC;
